Pete May is the author of several successful books such as Hammers in the Heart, Rent Boy, Ageing Body Confused Mind, Sunday Muddy Sunday, The Lad Done Bad and West Ham: Irons in the Soul. As a journalist he has written for the Guardian, Observer, Independent, Daily Express, Loaded, New Statesman, Ms London, ROOF and Junior. His columns have appeared in Time Out, Midweek and Baby and You. He is visiting lecturer in Sports Journalism at the London College of Communication.

Pete lives with his wife Nicola and two children in north London and and his latest book There’s a Hippo in My Cistern: One Man’s Misadventures on the Eco-Frontline is out now.
